Community Arts Council of Canada - CACC

About Us

In 2017, a group of dedicated community members came together to nurture an idea for a community organization dedicated to art and the cultural life of the City of Mississauga. Community Arts Council of Canada (CACC) was registered as a non profit organization with a focus on the presentation of high impact arts and cultural events. CACC plans to present and produce concerts and festivals, visual arts exhibitions, multimedia/film events, talks, lectures, workshops and services to artists and local communities.

CACC has presented scores of classical artists from different genres of music and dance through its festival THE CLASSICAL(formerly known as Vibrant Classical) in a virtual format back in 2020 and 2021. For the first time in 2022, a physical show was organized in a theatre based out of the Peel region. However, looking into the response it has received both from the classical music and dance lovers as well as from the artists performing such acts, the board of CACC has decided to organize The Classical Music & Dance Festival at a much bigger scale at a prestigious venue in the City of Mississauga.

Vision and Mandate

Community Arts Council of Canada’s primary objective is to promote healthy and active communities through celebration of their art and culture. Building upon the unique Canadian model of multiculturalism, which is the cornerstone of Canadian constitution.

CACC is a Mississauga-based not-for-profit organization with a vision to fill up systemic cultural and economic gaps in underserved diverse communities via festivals, interactive workshops for youth & seniors, artist mentorship and youth employment programs.

The organization intends to create opportunities to celebrate art, culture, and heritage in professionally produced family-oriented festivals and events. CACC’s projects are inclusive, intended to inspire cross cultural understanding, promote a sense of pride in citizenship for residents and create a positive economic impact and encouraging tourism. CACC intends to present various projects to enhance its objectives including its flagship THE CLASSICAL (formerly known as Vibrant Classical), a festival stemming from the need and demand for a platform for local Classical Music & Dance artistes to showcase their art forms in GTA which had to be launched in a virtual format back in 2020 and again in 2021. Since then, it has grown manifold, and an in-person concert was organized in 2022.

The organization emphasizes the spirit of volunteerism especially among the youth and will create opportunities for many young volunteers to give back to their communities by volunteering at its festivals and events.
